Donation of picture books to the welfare group (11/2009)
Mrs. Yoshiko Morimoto, spouse of H.E. Seiji Morimoto, the
Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman, donated 98 picture books including
46 Japanese titles to the
welfare group, "Dar Al-Atta", on 22nd November at the Japanese Ambassador's residence.
These picture books were purchased using parts of participating fee of the charity event entitled
"Japanese Food and Handcraft Morning" which was held on 1st November.
The selection of the Japanese picture books include
such well-known titles as "The Adventures of Peach Boy(Momotaro)",
"Jizo with hut(Kasajizo)", as well as "The Monkey and the
Crub(Sarukanigassen)", which have been handed down from generation to
generation in Japan. Some of these books are translated into English or Arabic,
and others are bilingual (either English-Arabic or Japanese-Arabic). These
picture books will be used by the welfare group during their reading events for
the children of Oman as well as hospital visit.
The Ceremony was attended by representatives of
"Dar Al-Atta" and Women's Guild in Oman whose members were the participants in the event held on 1st November.
