Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman
Mr. Seiji Morimoto
Ambassador Morimoto took up his post as Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman on 24 June 2008.
Ambassador Morimoto was born in Okazaki
City
in Aichi
Prefecture
on 2 April 1951 and is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at the University
of
Tokyo. Upon graduation, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in April 1975
and has since served among others as Counsellor of the Embassy of Japan in Iraq,
Director of the International Press Division, Director of the First West Europe
Division, Minister at the Embassy of Japan in Turkey, Deputy Director-General in
charge of global issues, Ambassador at the Permanent Mission of Japan to the
International Organizations in Vienna, and as Minister at the Embassy of Japan
in Germany.
