Japan
to exchange Diplomatic Notes concerning air services with
Oman
On 7th April, 2010, H.E. Seiji Morimoto,
Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of
Oman
and H.E. Sheikh Mohammed Sokar Hamed Al-Amry, Undersecretary of the Ministry of
Transport and Communication for Civil Aviation Affairs, exchanged the Diplomatic
Notes concerning the agreement for air services between
Japan
and
Oman. The signing ceremony was held at the Ministry of Transport and Communication
in Muscat.
By exchanging of the said
Diplomatic Notes, the previous Diplomatic Notes in which the Government of Oman
accepted full responsibility jointly together with Bahrain
and UAE for the Gulf Air Company exchanged in 1998 was terminated.
It is hoped that the exchange of
the above mentioned Diplomatic Notes would open a new chapter in civil aviation
relations between
Japan
and
Oman, leading to a possible opening of new direct air services between
Japan
and
Oman.
