From 17th to 22nd of April, 2010, H.E. Ahmed bin Abdulnabi Macki, Minister of National Economy and Deputy Chairman of the Financial Affairs and Energy Resources Council, and H.E. Sayyid Hamood bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs visited Japan following the visit to the Republic of Korea.
H.E. Macki met with H.E. Naoto Kan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, as well as H.E. Masayuki Naoshima, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. They discussed a number of issues related to bilateral economic cooperation, including ways to increase and diversify the investment of Japanese private sector in Oman.
H.E. Hamood met with H.E. Sakihito Ozawa, Minister of the Environment. They discussed a number of issues related to bilateral cooperation in environmental area between Japan and Oman.
On 20th of April, 2010, H.E. Macki and H.E. Hamood had a courtesy call on H.E. Yukio Hatoyama, Prime Minister at the Prime Minister's official residence. They discussed the measures to enhance bilateral relationship, including the possibility of Oman Air's direct flights to Japan, the acceleration of the procedures leading to the signature of the Convention Between Japan and the Sultanate of Oman for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income.
