 Fashion show “Hanae Mori Haute Couture -East Meets West-”

 On 8^th May, 2010, in contribution to the celebration of the 40^th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, the Embassy of Japan and the Saud Bahwan Group organized the fashion show entitled “Hanae Mori Haute Couture -East Meets West-”, under the patronage of Her Highness Sayyida Aliya bint Thuwaini bin Shihab Al Said, and with an exclusive sponsorship of the Saud Bahwan Group, at Majan Ball Room in Al Bustan Palace Hotel.

 Ms. Hanae Mori is one of the most renowned fashion designers from Japan and enjoys an exalted reputation for her artistic fashion design achievements in both Japan and overseas.

 Two performances took place on 8^th May, 2010: the matinee show exclusively for ladies as well as the dinner show, with participation of 12 top class fashion models from Japan, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine. The shows attracted a large number of audiences, and all the 320 seats set up for the evening performance were fully occupied.

 The shows were attended by the Royal family members, high ranking government officials, representatives of diplomatic corps, corporate executives, as well as members of various women’s associations in Oman. The audiences were fascinated by the distinctive style of “Hanae Mori Haute Couture -East Meets West-” which is characterized by the integration of oriental design with the western fashion concept.
