On 6th August, the Times of Oman ran a colorful feature on the “Japan Fan Club” (JFC), which is organized by the Embassy of Japan in Oman. The JFC was set up in 2012, as part of Ambassador Hisaeda’s vision to promote and share the rich cultural heritage of Japan. The club now has around 250 members.

The Embassy organizes cultural events throughout the year which introduce both traditional and modern Japan. Special events showcase ‘Cool Japan’ pop culture, aiming to help people in Oman understand more about ‘current’ Japan. JFC members are preferentially invited to such events.

The Embassy’s initiative in organizing such a fan club is recognized in the article as a unique strategy to enhance cultural exchange between two countries.
