The Reception of the Japanese National Day

 

     The Reception of the Japanese National Day was held on 7th December at the Residence of H.E. Seiji MORIMOTO, Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman, to celebrate the 76th Birthday of His Majesty Emperor Akihito of Japan as well as the 20th anniversary of the Emperor's accession to the throne and the 50th wedding anniversary of Their Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko. 

     The reception was attended by a number of high-ranking government officials of the Sultanate, including the following distinguished guests, and representatives of private enterprises. 

 

         1. His Excellency Dr. Omar bin Abdul Muneim al Zawawi, Special Advisor to His Majesty for External Liaison

         2. Her Highness Lady Virginia Fahr Al Said

         3. Her Highness Lady Suzan Qais Tariq Al Said

         4. His Excellency Sheikh Al Fadhl bin Mohammed Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of National Economy for Development Affairs 

         5. His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, Undersecretary for Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries

         6. His Excellency Younis bin Sabil Al Balushi, Member of Majlis A-Shura 

         7. His Excellency Hamoud bin Sangour Al Zadjali, Executive President of the Central Bank of Oman 

         8. His Excellency Dr. Sheikh Taleb bin Hilal Al Hosni, Secretary General at the Diwan of Royal Court 

         9. His Excellency Khaled bin Salem bin Said Al Saidi, Secretary General at the State Council 

         10. His Excellency Hussein bin Ali bin Abdullatif, Advisor at the Diwan of the Royal Court 

         

     At the reception, Japanese made high-definition LCD TVs were displayed to showcase various images of Japanese pop culture as well as to demonstrate Japan's advanced technologies in the field of home entertainment equipment as part of the Embassy's efforts in promoting Japanese culture and products. Sophisticated miniature models of some of the World Heritage Sites in Japan were also on display along with Japanese traditional kites. The guests enjoyed themselves untill late in the evening while getting acquainted with various elements of Japanese culture including a wide range of Japanese cuisine.
