On 23rd January, 2011, the Embassy of Japan organized an event "WASHOKU-Try
Japan's Good Food" in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture,
Forestry and Fisheries of Japan at the Ambassador's Residence.
H.E.
Mohammed bin Ali bin Juma Al Zubair, Advisor to His Majesty for Economic
Planning Affairs, high-ranking government officials, business leaders,
ambassadors, the
representatives of hotels, catering and food importing companies in Muscat were
invited to this event to encounter high-quality Japanese fruits, vegetables and
ingredients. The Embassy introduced such Japanese agricultural products as
Melons (Earl’s Melons), Sweet Potates (Naruto Kintoki), Persimmons (Chilled
Fuyu Persimmons), Pumpkins, Burdock Roots (Shin Gobo), Japanese Radishes (Daikon),
Pickled Radishes, Sweet Pickled Shallots (Ama Rakkyo), Spicy Pickled Shallots (Pirikara
Rakkyo), and some Japanese ingredients such as Citrus Soy Sauce / Ponzu (Konbudashi
Ponzu), Red Miso (Marunashi Inaka Miso (Red, no additives)), White Miso (Marunashi
Kouji Miso (White, no additives)), Soy Sauce (Marudaizu Soy Sause (Japanese soy
beans)).
