The outgoing Ambassador H.E. Seiji Morimoto of Japan had a royal audience with His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said on 11th September, 2011. In a very friendly atmosphere, Ambassador Morimoto and His Majesty Sultan Qaboos exchanged views on various matters including bilateral relations and regional issues of common concern.
During the audience, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said conferred Al-Nu'man Order (1st Class) on Ambassador Morimoto for his outstanding achievements in serving relations of friendship between the two countries. The Order was founded in honour of Ahmed bin Nu'man al Ka'abi, the first Arab envoy who was dispatched by then Sultan Said to U.S. President Van Buren in 1840.
