On 3rd May, Ambassador George Hisaeda invited Mr. Ramos Ruy, Coach of Japan National Beach Soccer Team and the team members to his residence for a chat.

On 4th May, Ambassador George Hisaeda watched a beach soccer friendly match between Japan and Oman. The Japan Team lost a close game of 2-1.

On 14th May, Ambassador George Hisaeda invited May J., a Japanese Pop singer who was visiting Oman, and the local students to his residence for a chat.

MayJ懇談会


On 15th May, Ambassador George Hisaeda attended the Opening Ceremony of the "Japan Day" event organized by the Embassy in cooperation with the Scientific College of Design, and encouraged winners in the Award Ceremony of the Manga Competition that the Embassy held. Then, Ambassador Hisaeda watched a May J.'s concert which was a highlight of the day and enjoyed J-Pop together with a large audience in Oman including young people. After the concert, J-Pop fan meeting event was held. Scenes of all these events were broadcast worldwide through a TV programme called J-Melo by Japan Broadcasting Corporation.

On 29th May, Ambassador George Hisaeda visited a facility for children with special needs to donate Japanese books and Origami (Japanese folding paper).

On 30th May, Ambassador George Hisaeda had a talk with H.E. Mohammed bin Salim Said Al Toobi, Minister of Environment and Climate Affairs.

On 2nd June, Ambassador George Hisaeda exchanged views with H.E. Ryuji Yamane, Parliamentary Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, who was visiting Oman. Later that day, Ambassador Hisaeda held a meeting with H.E. Ryuji Yamane and representatives of Japanese companies in Oman.

On 6th June, Ambassador George Hisaeda watched a 2014 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifier between Oman and Australia. On the same day, he also watched a match between Japan and Jordan on TV with H.E. Rashad bin Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Omair Al Hinai, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sport Affairs.

On 11th June, Ambassador George Hisaeda visited Dhofar University in Salalah to donate books related to Japan.
