On 2nd October, Ambassador George Hisaeda invited a Japanese delegation, who were visiting Oman to attend INFRA OMAN 2013, to his residence where he gave a lecture on Japan-Oman trade relations.


On 8th October, Ambassador George Hisaeda invited Dr. Mohammed Saad Al Muqadam (the second from right in first row), Head of History Department, Sultan Qaboos University and other professors to his residence.


On 10th October, Ambassador George Hisaeda invited the Principal of the Japanese school and his wife as well as the board members of the Japanese community to his residence. The Embassy of Japan backs the Japanese school, which plays a great role in supporting the economic activities of Japanese residents in Oman.


On 23rd October, Ambassador George Hisaeda had a meeting with H.E. Dr. Salem bin Nasser Al Ismaily, Chairman of Public Authority for Investment Promotion & Export Development, a former JICA trainee, and former chairman of JICA-OMAN Alumni Association.

On 28th October, Ambassador George Hisaeda invited Ambassadors of other nations to his residence, where they exchanged views.

On 31st October, Ambassador George Hisaeda invited Mr. Yukio Takasu, United Nations Undersecretary-General for Management to his residence. Mr. Takasu is a career diplomat, who has a long experience of working in international organizations, including the UN, and was the Ambassador of Japan to the Permanent Mission of Japan to the UN.


On 10th November, Ambassador George Hisaeda had a meeting with H.E. Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs.

On 11th November, Ambassador George Hisaeda invited H.H. Sayyida Nadra bint Taloot Al Said and H.H. Sayyid Said bin Taloot Al Said from Al Said ruling royal family. H.H. Sayyida Nadra is familiar with Japanese culture, including the Japanese language, Manga and Anime, and often attends cultural events hosted by the Embassy of Japan.


On 12th November, Ambassador George Hisaeda officially visited Nizwa University and had a meeting with Chancellor Dr. Ahmed bin Khalfan Al Rawahi. The Ambassador delivered a speech to professors and students, and attended ‘Japan Festival’ which included a book donation on behalf of the Government of Japan, and the exhibition of Japan’s sleek advertising photography.


On 14th November, Ambassador George Hisaeda invited H.E. Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassadors of the Middle East Desalination Research Center (MEDRC) member nations, and the Director of MEDRC to his residence. MEDRC is an international organization which was established in Muscat in 1996 under the leadership of Oman, Japan and other nations. Desalination is vital in the arid Middle East region, where fresh water is scarce.


On 18th November, Ambassador George Hisaeda had a meeting with H.E. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Shihi, Minister of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources. The Ambassador explained the Japanese Government’s infrastructure exports policy, technical cooperation and loans, and other means of enhancing bilateral cooperation.
