Embassy of Japan's activities (April-May 2016)
On 26th May, Ambassador Mitsugu Saito hosted a reception for the Japanese tourism delegation. The delegation consists of Japanese tourism agencies and Japanese free paper editors in Bangkok. The delegation visited Oman by the arrangement of the Embassy. They will soon sell the package tours to Oman for the Japanese customers in Thailand.
On 18th May, Ambassador Mitsugu Saito was invited to the launching ceremony of “Quester”, a new truck model developed by UD Trucks Corporation, Japan. During the ceremony, “Kagamibiraki (with Orange Juice)”, Japanese traditional way of celebration was performed.
On 1st May, Ambassador Mitsugu Saito paid a visit to Japan Maritime Self Defense Force ship MST-463 “Uraga” which called at the Port Sultan Qaboos. At the same night, Ambassador Saito hosted a reception for Captain Takaiwa and his officers as well as Omani Armed Forces officers and representatives of the Japanese community in Muscat at his residence.
On 4th April, Ambassador Mitsugu Saito visited Ghubrah Independent Water Plant (IWP) located in Muscat municipality area. Ghubrah IWP is a water desalination plant which draws sea water and produce domestic water. The visit was attended by executives from Sumitomo Corporation, a Japanese company and major shareholder of the project.
