Embassy of Japan's activities
On 21st March 2017, H.E. Mitsugu Saito, Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman hosted a reception at his residence in cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), attended by H.E. Ali Bin Masoud Al Sunaidi, Minister of Commerce and Industry in the Sultanate of Oman and other ex-participants of JICA training programs. Ambassador Saito delivered a welcoming speech and spoke about the technical cooperation implemented in the Sultanate by JICA successfully.
On 19th March 2017, H.E. Mitsugu Saito, Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman hosted dinner for the Japanese government (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology: MEXT) scholarship students at his residence before their departure for Japan in April. The dinner was also attended by H.E. Mohammed Al Khusaibi, former Ambassador of Oman to Japan and distinguished guests.
On 16th March 2017, H.E. Mitsugu Saito Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman hosted a dinner at his residence for the Japan Oman Society members' delegation headed by. H.E. Keiji Omori, former Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman and President of the Society.
On 12th February 2017, H.E. Mitsugu Saito Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman received in his residence a Japanese group from Nara City, Japan on the occasion of their visit to Oman to participate in Muscat Festival 2017.
On 9th February 2017, H.E. Mitsugu Saito Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman attended the International Ceremony for Karate at Nizwa club. The ceremony was also attended by H.H. Sayyed Mohammed Bin Salim Al Said, Honorable Chairman of the Japanese Karate Association (JKA) in Oman, H.E. Sheikh Rashad Al Hinaei, Undersecretary of Ministry of Sports Affairs and Mr. Said Bin Hamed Al Hashami, Chairman and Chief Instructor of Japanese Karate Association (JKA) in Oman.
On February 01, 2017, H.E. Mitsugu Saito Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman accompanied Admiral Katsutoshi KAWANO, Chief of Staff, Joint Staff, Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) during his call on H.E. Sayyid Badr bin Saud Al Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged cordial conversations and touched on issues of common concern in the military field.
On the following day, H.E. Mitsugu Saito accompanied Admiral KAWANO in his meeting with Maj. Gen. Salim bin Musallam bin Ali Qatan, Commandant of the National Defence College.
On 31st January 2017, H.E Mitsugu SAITO, Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman delivered a lecture under the title “About Japan(NIPPON):Nature, Society, History, Politics, Economy, Japan-Oman relation and Japan in the World”, at the National Defence College, Ministry of Defence, Sultanate of Oman. Ambassador Saito met Major General Salim Bin Musallam Qattan, Commandant of the National Defence College.
On 8th January 2017, H.E. Mitsugu Saito invited H.E. Dr. Ali Bin Masoud Al Sunaidi, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Sultanate of Oman, to his residence and hosted a dinner to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries and congratulated the Minister for having been "The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star" by the Government of Japan.
