Embassy of Japan's activities
On 1st January 2018, H.E. Mitsugu Saito, Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman met H.E. Dr. Ali bin Masoud Bin Ali Al Sunaidi, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Sultanate of Oman. During the meeting, both sides reviewed bilateral ties between Oman and Japan and ways to develop it in all fields.
On 15th January 2018, H.E. Mitsugu Saito, Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman met H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Saidi, Minister of Health of the Sultanate of Oman and delivered an invitation from the Japanese Health and Social Welfare Minister to attend the third Global Ministerial Summit on Patient Safety to be held in April in Tokyo. During the meeting, both sides reviewed bilateral ties between Oman and Japan and ways to develop it in all fields.
On 18th January 2018, H.E. Mitsugu Saito, Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman met H.E. Dr.Mohammed bin Hamad Al Rumhy, Minister of Oil and Gas of the Sultanate of Oman. During the meeting, both sides reviewed bilateral ties between Oman and Japan and ways to develop it in all fields.
On 8th February 2018, H.E. Mitsugu Saito, Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman, invited the members and the supporters of the Nara- Oman Friendship Association, to his residence and hosted a lunch to discuss their initiatives as a part of his efforts to enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries.
The association visited Muscat to participate the Muscat Festival 2018 where they performed tea ceremony, calligraphy and rice pounding, that attracted many visitors.
The Embassy of Japan participated in the 23rd Muscat International Book Fair at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre in cooperation with the Japan Foundation and Japan Publishing Industry Foundation for Culture from 21st February to 3rd March. For the first time, the Embassy invited Books Kinokuniya Dubai Store to sell their books. Many people visited our booth and enjoyed Japanese books.
On 25th February 2018, H.E. Mitsugu Saito, Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman delivered a speech on the first day of the Omani-Japanese Economic Cooperation Forum for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) organized by the Public Authority for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises (Riyada) and Al-Raffd Fund from 24th February to 2nd March 2018. The Forum was organized on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Oman and Japan and to enhance the economic cooperation between Oman and Japan. On 1st March 2018, Ambassador of Japan held a reception at his residence for the Japanese and Omani delegation who participated in the forum.
On 4th March 2018, H.E. Mitsugu Saito, Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman attended the Opening Ceremony for New Japanese Restaurant, “TAKARA RESTAURANT” as a guest of honor, delivered the opening remarks and cut the tape.
