The Embassy of Japan organized a lecture of Mr. Greenberg, CEO of Urban Connections and Degital-Meme Company based in Japan, on October 5th at the Cultural Club in Al-Qurum.
During the lecture which lasted about 90 minutes, Mr. Greenberg gave a presentation on culture of Katsuben or traditional Japanese narration and the history of Japanese silent movies which have originately developed from Kamishibai or picture-story show. Some selected works of silent movies were also screened.
While showing some silent movies and SF animation works produced in the 1920s and 30s, Mr. Greenberg explained the process of digitalization of silent movie films.
The selected films were very interesting and the audience enjoyed listening to his lecture and screening of the films.
