Ambassador Yamamoto visits Nizwa University. (October 5)
On October 5, Ambassador Yamamoto visited Nizwa University and met with His Excellency Professor Ahmed Al-Rawahi, Chancellor and other officials. During the campus tour guided by His Excellency, Ambassador was briefed on variety of university’s programs, including activities to support new students and business incubation services, as well as science facilities in a high-quality research environment.
Book donation ceremony takes place at Nizwa University (October 5)
On October 5, a book donation ceremony by took place at Nizwa University Library. Under the Tokyo Foundation for Policy Research’s program called ‘Read Japan Project’, the Japanese Embassy recommend Nizwa University as the recipient of Japan-related books written or translated in English, and the Foundation approved the recommendation. On behalf ot the Foundation, Ambassador Yamamoto presented about 20 books to His Excellency Professor Ahmed Al-Rawahi, Nizwa University’s Chancellor.
Ambassador and Mrs.Yamamoto meet Japanese table tennis athletes at WTT Contender Muscat (October 11)
On October 11, Ambassador and Mrs. Yamamoto met with Japanese athletes and coaches at international table tennis competition “WTT Contender Muscat 2023” at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, wishing them luck for the games.
During a-week event, many Japanese watched the matches at the hall, leading to outstanding results of Japanese players at the competition, including the women’s singles title.

Japanese Embassy participates in EduTraC. (October 22 - 24)
From October 22 to 24, the Embassy of Japan participated in EduTraC and set up a joint booth with the Japanese government sponsored project ‘J-MENA’ based in Kyushu University. Together with the support from the Omanis who have studied in Japan, we have promoted study-in-Japan to many visitors at our booth.
