SWYAA Global Assembly Oman held in Muscat (November 5-8)

On November 5, the Ship for World Youth (SWY) Committee-Oman commenced the 14th SWYAA Global Assembly in Muscat under the patronage of HE Khalid Al Muslahi, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry of the Sultanate of Oman. 141 alumni from 25 countries participated in the opening ceremony, as attended by Ambassador Jota Yamamoto as well. Director Shunsuke Fujimori of the Cabinet Office of Japan gave his celebrating remarks, and suggested that the traditional on board ship program may possibly revive next year.
 
 
SWY is the international youth exchange program sponsored by the Japanese government, and Oman has been one the most active participating countries. After four years' interval due to the pandemic, this year's Global Assembly of alumni was made possible with the cooperation of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth. It was held until November 8.
 

   

Oman-Japan Friendship Association (OJFA) resumes Japanese language course (November 20)

On November 20th, the Oman-Japan Friendship Association in corporation with the Japanese Embassy opened Japanese language courses at Children’s Public Library in Qurum.  After four years’ absence, the course resumed in two classes, one for the adults and the other for children, and about 25 students now learn Japanese with the newly appointed teacher, Sawada-sensei. 
      

Japanese Embassy participates in a charity bazaar hosted by the Diplomatic Club (November 27)

The Japanese Embassy participated in the charity bazaar held at the Diplomatic Club on November 27th under the patronage of HE Khalid Al Muslahi, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry.  The proceeds are donated to Al Rahma Association for Motherhood and Childhood.
