Ambassador attends the SEIKO Boutique Inauguration (January 31)

Ambassador Jota Yamamoto attended the SEIKO Boutique Inauguration at Mall of Oman to celebrate its opening with Mr. Hamza Ali Awadh, Director of Al Qurum Jewellery, and Mr. Shogo Nakano, General Manager of Seiko Watch Corporation Dubai Office.  As the first-ever SEIKO boutique in the Middle East, it speaks volumes to its symbolizing Japanese quality, reliability, precision, durability, universality and hospitality.
 

Japanese Embassy participates in GHEDEX (February 4 - 8)

     From February 4 to 6, the Embassy of Japan and a representative from J-MENA project based in Kyushu University attended GHEDEX at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, and promoted study-in-Japan with a support of Japanese college alumni of Omani students.
 
      

Japanese Embassy holds a study-in-Japan seminar at Sultan Qaboos University (February 7)

       On February 7, the Embassy of Japan and J-MENA held a seminar entitled “General Guide to Study-in-Japan” at Sultan Qaboos University and gave presentations on basic steps to go to Japanese universities and scholarship programs offered for Omani students.
      

Chief of Staff, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, visits Oman (February 11 to 13)

  From February 11 to 13, Admiral SAKAI Ryo, Chief of Staff, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force made an official visit to Oman to meet with Rear Admiral Saif Nasser Al-Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman, and have a site tour at Maritime Security Center.  Throughout his visit, Admiral Sakai confirmed that both navies would further deepen the friendly relationship in the future.

      

The Emperor’s Birthday Reception 2024 (February 27)

On February 27th, Ambassador Yamamoto hosted a reception to celebrate the 64th birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan. The ceremony was attended by HE Abudlsalam Al Murshidi, President of Oman Investment Authority as the guest of honor and the members of Omani delegation, and distinguished guests representing various sectors, to honor this national day.
During welcome remarks, Ambassador expressed his gratitude to many people for their partnership in enhancing collaboration in many fields, which has been the very engine of Japan-Oman friendship.
