H.E. Mr. Iwata, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry visits Oman (March 6th)

On March 6th, H.E. Mr. IWATA Kazuchika, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, visited the Sultanate of Oman and met with H.E. Mr. Qais Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry & Investment Promotion and high rank representatives from the Foreign Ministry and the Oman Investment Authority as well as business leaders to discuss the future opportunities for Japan and Oman. Minister Iwata also signed documents for cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry & Investment Promotion and the OIA respectively. We believe that this signing will serve as a cornerstone for cooperation between our two countries in diverse fields, especially for non-hydro carbon sectors.

Conferment Ceremony in honor of Mr. Harib Al-Kitani, former CEO of Oman LNG (March 7)

On March 7th, Ambassador Yamamoto conferred the Order of the Rising Sun upon Mr. Harib Al-Kitani, former CEO of Oman LNG, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to forge a long-established Japan-Oman partnerships and networks in the energy field, leading to our continued collaboration towards clean energy and new business cooperation.
 
The conferment ceremony was attended by many distinguished guests from the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, the State Council, Oman LNG and Japanese companies, as well as his family and friends.

Signing of MoU between Hitachi Zosen Corporation, Hitachi Zosen Inova and Oman LNG(March 11)

On 11th of March, in the presence of Eng Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals (MEM), Ambassador Jota Yamamoto attended the MoU signing along with Hitachi Zosen, Hitachi Zosen Inova (Swiss subsidiary) and Oman LNG. This MoU is referred to MoC signed in 2022 between the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan and MEM. We hope that this signing will create opportunities for business demonstration and social implementation of methanation.


   
 
   

Ambassador Yamamoto hosts a reception for Omani student alumni of Japanese universities (March 20)

         On March 20, Ambassador hosted a reception at his residence for former Omani students who have studied in Japan.  Ambassador and the Embassy staff showed their appreciation to the guests for their support at a series of education related events in the past year and reconfirmed a strong bond between the Embassy and alumni.

Presentation of Foreign Minister’s Commendation to Dr. Suad Al Mudhaffar (April 24)

 On April 24, Ambassador Yamamoto presented Japan’s Foreign Minister’s Commendation to Dr. Suad Al Mudhaffar, founder and former principal of Azzan Bin Qais International School. She is a pioneer in enhancing academic and educational networks in Oman.
 The presentation ceremony was attended by many guests representing broad sectors as reflecting Dr. Suad’s efforts of dedication.
