Conferment Ceremony in honor of H.E. Dr. Rawya bint Saud Al Busaidi (May 5)
On May 5th, Ambassador Yamamoto conferred the Order of the Rising Sun upon H.E. Dr. Rawya bint Saud Al Busaidi, former Minister of Higher Education, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to forging Japan-Oman educational and academic relationship.
The conferment ceremony was attended by HH Dr. Sayyid Kamil bin Fahad Al Said, Secretary General in the General Secretariat for the Council of Ministers, HE Dr. Madiha, Minister of Education, HE Al Murshidi, President of Oman Investment Authority, and many guests from various sectors as well as her family and friends.

Ambassador Yamamoto pays courtesy call on H.E. Jamal bin Hassan Al-Moosawi (May 16)
On May 16, Ambassador Jota Yamamoto paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Jamal bin Hassan Al-Moosawi, the Secretary-General of Oman National Museum, to explore potential avenues for future bilateral cooperation between museums, within the framework of cultural diplomacy. In commemoration of the courtesy call, the ambassador presented Wajima lacquerware, an exemplary traditional Japanese craft.
Cultural Attachés’ Visit to the University of Nizwa (May 29)
On May 29, cultural attachés from the Embassy of Japan visited the University of Nizwa to exchange ideas with Honorable Dr. Abdullah Saif Salim Al-Ghafri, Professor of the UNESCO Chair on Aflaj Studies - Archaeohydrology, University of Nizwa/Member of the State Council. The discussions focused on further enhancing academic ties between Japan and Oman. Honorable Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghafri, having pursued studies in Japan, is a prominent researcher of Oman's "Falaj" irrigation system, which is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
