Celebration Reception for Prof. KONDO's FM Commendation (November 11)

 On November 11, the Embassy of Japan in the Sultanate of Oman hosted a reception in honor of Professor Yasuhisa KONDO of the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN), who was awarded the Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation for FY 2024.
 The event was attended by a distinguished group of guests, including H.E. Eng. Ibrahim bin Said Al-Kharusi, Undersecretary for Heritage Affairs at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, as well as senior officials from the ministry and university professors. Ambassador Jota Yamamoto and Eng. Yusra bint Khalaf Al-Subhi, Director-General of Antiquities, delivered remarks praising Professor KONDO’s achievements. Professor KONDO also gave a commemorative lecture on the potential contribution of archaeological research to disaster risk reduction in Oman.

Ambassador Wives’ Group (AWG) Reception (November 26)

 On November 26, Mrs. Etsuko Yamamoto, wife of the Ambassador of Japan, hosted an event at the Ambassador's Residence for the Ambassador Wives’ Group (AWG). Guests experienced “Kado,” the traditional Japanese art of flower arranging, under the guidance of Mrs. Yamamoto, a certified Kado master. The event also included a presentation on the upcoming EXPO2025 Osaka/Kansai, which will take place starting in April next year. During lunch, the residence’s chef served traditional Japanese cuisine.
