Embassy of Japan's activities (August 2026)

On August 26, the first Joint Committee meeting for the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) between Japan and Oman was held in Oman (Some attended online). During the meeting, rules and guidelines for implementing the JCM in accordance with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement were adopted. Moving forward, by promoting JCM projects in Oman based on these adopted rules, we aim to achieve greenhouse gas emission reductions through superior decarbonization technologies and contribute to both countries' NDCs (Nationally Determined Contributions—greenhouse gas reduction targets).
