On 29th December 2019, Minister of Defense Kono visited Oman for the first time as Japanese Defense Minister. During the visit, Minister Kono held a meeting with H.E. Gen. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Numani, Minister of Royal Office and H.E. Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib Al Busaidi, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs.
Two sides welcomed that the defense cooperation/exchange between friendly two countries is developing under the Memorandum on Cooperation signed between Japanese and Omani Ministries of Defense and exchanged a range of common concerns.
