National Day Reception (Feb. 24, 2020)

　On February 24, 2020, the Embassy of Japan in the Sultanate of Oman held the reception to celebrate the 60th birthday of His Majesty Emperor Naruhito at a hotel in Muscat. At the opening ceremony, Ambassador KOBAYASHI Toshinori congratulated H.M. the Emperor upon his first birthday since the enthronement. He also conveyed his condolences to late H.M. Sultan Qaboos and delivered his congratulations to new H.M. Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. He concluded his speech with wishing for further development of the bilateral relation between Japan and Oman. During the ceremony, promotional videos featuring Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which is scheduled from July 24 to August 9, were shown. Many VIPs from various sectors participated in the reception and enjoyed the Japanese cuisine such as sushi and traditional sweets prepared by Ambassador’s chef.
