Oman-Japan Essay Contest
 The Embassy of Japan in the Sultanate of Oman announces the Oman Japan Essay Contest. The theme of an essay is “Oman-Japan relation based on an applicant’s experience”. The contest will be divided into two categories for Omanis under and over 18 years old. An essay which may infringe copyrights and any other rights pertaining to others is prohibited. The submission deadline is December 25, 2020. The winners will be announced by early January, 2021.

●Competition details:
  1. Only Omani citizens are eligible for the contest.
  2. The first category is for Omanis under 18 years old. Thus, a representative such as an applicant’s parent can submit the essay on behalf of a minor applicant.
  3. The second category is for Omani adults aged 18 and over.
  4. An essay must be written in Arabic.
  5. An essay must be written by an applicant himself or herself.
  6. The length of an essay must be a maximum of 700 words or less.
  7. An applicant must agree with the use of the essay by the Embassy for unprofitable purposes.
  8. The Embassy will announce the winners and their essays with their consents. As for the child winner, the Embassy will get an approval from a person with parental authority.

●How to Submit:
  1. Submit a soft copy (which should be a Microsoft Word formatted file) of an essay to the Embassy’s e-mail address. The volume has to be less than 8MB.
  2. Make sure to put the submission date, the name and the signature of an applicant under the title of an essay.
  3. The application form and the letter of consent completed by an applicant himself or herself are also to be submitted.

  1. A Certificate of Commendation by the Ambassador of Japan to the Sultanate of Oman
