President of the International Gymnastic Federation Visit Oman
On June 1, 2022, Mr. WATANABE Morinari, President of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and a member of the International Olympic Committee, visited Oman. During his stay, he met with His Excellency Basil Al Rawas, Undersecretary for Sports and Youth, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, and Sheikh Khalid Al-Zubair, Chairman of the Oman Olympic Committee and asked for their support to establish a gymnastic federation in Oman. He also assured his commitment to promoting and developing sports as a whole in Oman.
Ambassador Yamamoto stated that Mr. Watanabe’s visit would mark an important step to further develop Japan-Oman relationship through sports.

On June 12, 2022, Ambassador Jota YAMAMOTO met with Mr. Hamed Al Naamany, Chief Executive Officer, Oman LNG.

Mr. HONDA Taro, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan visits the Sultanate of Oman
On June 20 and 21, 2022, Mr. HONDA Taro, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan visited the Sultanate of Oman and paid courtesy calls on H.E. Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister and H.E. Eng. Salim bin Nasser bin Said al Aufi, Minister of Energy and Minerals. Mr. HONDA also met with H.E. Mohammed al Wahaibi, Undersecretry for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Foreign Ministry to discuss Japan - Oman relationship. At the Maritime Security Center, Commodore Tarik bin Issa Al Raisi, Acting Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman received him and the delegation followed by a tour and briefing on the center. During his stay, Mr. HONDA had an opportunity to exchange views with the Japanese cooperation representatives based in Oman.

On June 26, JS SAMIDARE conducted a goodwill exercise with the Royal Navy of Oman ship KHASAB in the Arabian Sea, for the purpose of promoting Japan-Oman defense exchanges and enhancing their tactical skills.
Japanese Embassy participates in 968 GameZ
From June 30th to July 2nd, the Embassy of Japan participated in a pop-culture event ‘968 GameZ’ at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. This is our second cooperation for the event upon invitation by Mr. Mustafa Al Ajmi, Creative Director, Sosical Mania, after our first appearance in 2019.
On Day 1, Ambassador Yamamoto made remarks at the opening ceremony as the partner embassy. Throughout the three-day event, the embassy attracted so many visitors with yukata (casual kimono outfit) try-on, name in Japanese letters by Japanese calligraphy and many more programs.
